Description

The Deringer 50G Reduced Pressure Detector Assembly is engineered for precise and reliable backflow detection within commercial and industrial fire protection systems. It utilizes a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) design that actively prevents hazardous backflow into potable water supplies, aligning with critical safety requirements for fire sprinkler and suppression networks.

Technical Specifications (Material Focus)

  • Main Body: Constructed from heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant materials tailored for fire service environments.
  • Internal Components: Stainless steel springs and durable internal mechanisms designed to ensure consistent and long-lasting operation under high-pressure conditions.
  • Seals and Seats: Engineered to maintain tight shutoff and minimize leakage, using elastomeric materials compatible with fire protection system water chemistry.

Regulatory Compliance

  • UL Listed: Certified to UL 312 for reduced pressure zone backflow assemblies, confirming its suitability for fire protection applications.
  • FM Approved: Meets Factory Mutual standards for reliability and performance in fire safety systems.
  • NFPA Standards: Compliant with NFPA 13 and NFPA 25, supporting installation, testing, and maintenance mandates essential for fire protection system integrity.

Operational Compatibility

  • Pressure Rating: Rated for maximum operating pressures typical in fire suppression lines, ensuring dependable function under fluctuating system demands.
  • Connection Types: Designed for compatibility with standard fire protection piping connections to facilitate ease of installation and retrofit into existing systems.
  • Installation Flexibility: Suitable for both horizontal and vertical configurations, allowing integration into diverse plumbing layouts and mechanical rooms.

The Deringer 50G offers enhanced protection against system contamination by continuously monitoring for reverse flow events. Its reduced pressure design mitigates risks associated with water supply pollution, a critical consideration in commercial properties and industrial facilities where fire safety systems interface directly with potable water sources.

Ideal for fire protection contractors, facility managers, and plumbers tasked with maintaining code compliance and protecting water quality, this detector assembly reduces maintenance complexity through its durable construction and dependable detection functionality. Its robust materials and certified performance ensure longevity even under harsh operational conditions common to fire suppression systems.

By selecting the Deringer 50G, users benefit from a backflow prevention solution that integrates seamlessly into existing fire protection infrastructure, supports rigorous regulatory demands, and enhances system safety without compromising flow efficiency. This assembly addresses typical challenges such as scavenging contaminants during pressure fluctuations and simplifies routine testing with accessible test ports, facilitating compliance-driven inspections.
